In order to further improve students' ability to solve problems, cultivate their interest in mathematics, and test the rigor of their logical thinking ability, the mathematics group of Grade 8 of Anqing Foreign Language School’s east campus held the basic knowledge competition of mathematics on 13th June, which is designed for the eighth graders. The questions refer to the thinking questions, extension questions and asterisk questions in textbooks and math practice materials, reflecting the characteristics of ‘from the base and higher than the base’. In addition, the questions are not only scientific and flexible, but also difficult and quantitative. Thus, the students focused their attention and tried their best to solve more problems in limited time. Therefore, through this competition, students’ problem-solving ability has been trained. It’s hoped that more and more people will join the study of mathematics to understand  mathematical knowledge, expand mathematical knowledge and experience the charm of mathematics.
In summary, this competition cultivated students' serious and rigorous learning attitude, enriched their learning life, ignited students' passion for learning, and improved the accuracy and speed of their calculation, which, in the meantime, cultivated students' good sense of competition, and fully reflected the passionate and vigorous campus cultural life of our school.
